Kids from the second grade at Wellington Elementary search through a truckload of pumpkins Monday afternoon. The pumpkin delivery to second graders across Carbon School District and the Pinnacle Canyon Charter School has become somewhat of a tradition around Halloween. The pumpkins are brought to the students each year by Richard Hackwell who buys them from a local grower and then transports them to the schools over a three-day period. After the students get the pumpkins they decorate them. On Oct. 24 the pumpkins will be judged and prizes will be awarded in various categories.
