Tony Kokal


SPRING GLEN – Tony Kokal III, age 56, was finally freed from his 27 year battle with multiple sclerosis on Oct. 4, 2005. He was a warrior to the end, never giving up and making the best of every situation. A true man of valor.
He was born Oct. 13, 1948 in Standardville, to Antone (Tony) and Flora Jean Kerbovich Kokal.
Member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Graduate of Carbon High and College of Eastern Utah. Served in the U.S. Air Force.
Tony had a true love for guitar playing and a gifted talent of writing songs, “Angels Paradise,” and was a member of the Argon band.
He was always found in front of his computer playing poker, solitaire and emailing friends.
He loved sports, playing baseball throughout school and watching games on TV. His greatest companions were his dogs, Brutis and Tahnee.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Rocky Mountain Home Health, and to all of the special people who helped take care of him. A very special thank you to Ron Magann and Olie Olson, Tony could not ask for better friends. His neighbors are some of the best, thank you for being there whenever trouble called.
Survived by daughter, Suzie (Shane) Spensko, Provo; sons, Tony Kokal IV, Paul Kokal, both of Elk Ridge; mother, Flora Kokal, Spring Glen; sisters, Jeanette (Terry) Marasco, Spring Glen; Helen (Gregg) Larsen, Spring Glen; Kris (Scott) Cox, Mapleton; grandchildren, Lindsey and Steven Spensko, Provo; Victoria and Domanick Kokal, Elk Ridge; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death by father, Tony Kokal; and sister, Mary Lopan.
Memorial service Saturday, Oct. 8, 2 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home.


Jack Brown


PRICE – Jack R. Brown, age 78, passed away Oct. 5, 2005 at his home in Price.
He was born April 24, 1927 in Los Angeles, Calif., to Everett and Gladys D. Osborn Brown. Married Eleanor Chiono, later divorced.
Served in the U.S. Navy and was a life member of VFW Miners Post 2379.
In his early years, Jack started various small businesses and later retired as a teamster truck driver.
He had a great love for family and friends and he enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. Jack loved bowling, playing shuffleboard, darts and was part of a square dancing group.
Survived by wife and constant companion, Susan Brown, Price; Jack’s two children, Steve (Kathryn) Brown, Antioch, Calif.; Susan Noleroth, Price; grandchildren, Jesse Noleroth and Bryan Brown; great-grandchildren, Todd, Tyler, Kobi and Jaci; stepdaughter, Peggy Brown, Price; step-grandchildren, Tia and Austin; and sister, Beverly Brown, San Francisco, Calif. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Karen Brown; and two brothers, Bob and Bill Brown.
Memorial service Saturday, Oct. 8, 10 a.m., at the VFW Miners Post Lodge.


Linda Stone


HUNTINGTON CANYON – Linda LeAnne Stoddard Stone, age 43, loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother passed away Sept. 30, 2005 after a brave and valiant battle with cancer.
LeAnne was born on Oct. 8, 1961 to Bill W. and Louise Stoddard.
LeAnne had a deep faith in God, and was unwavering in her beliefs. The trials in her life were like stepping stones. She climbed each step with grace and dignity. She was an inspiration to those who knew her.
She loved life, she loved to laugh and make other people laugh, she had a heart of gold, always willing to help anyone in need.
She was a true friend, and was thankful for anything anyone did for her.
She was a talented artist and singer. She worked as a secretary, bookkeeper and weighmaster for CW Mining for more than 30 years. She was very efficient and a great asset to the company.
She especially treasured the time she spent with her family. She was the proud mother of six children, Mikel, Amber, Maryanne, Jewel, Charles, James; and one grandson, Joseph.
She is survived by children; grandchild; parents, Bill and Louise; brothers, Scott (Cindy), Jim (Dayna), Shain (Monique), Freddy (Shirley); sisters, Dorthy, Angi (Cyril), Carri, and Jinger. Preceded in death by infant brother, Jesse; sister, Janie; and grandmother, Lavenda.
A special thanks to hospice, their nurses and caregivers for all the love, care and devotion they gave to LeAnne and her family.
Funeral services were Wed., Oct. 5 at the Lake Hills Mortuary 10055 South, State Street, Sandy. Internment, Bountiful Memorial Park, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful.


Donna Davis


PRICE/SPANISH FORK – Donna Horsley Davis passed away Oct. 3, 2005 in Spanish Fork.
She was born Jan. 31, 1928 in Price.
Donna loved music and played piano and the flute. She performed flute duets with a friend. She held teaching positions in all LDS ward organizations and served in the stake Sunday school.
Donna is survived by husband, Kenneth Jacob; children, Kathryn (Jared) Whitehead, Taylorsville; Karla (Lynn) Snyder, Salem; Don Davis, Salem; Darwin (Paula) Davis, Newark, Del.; brother, Albert Ross (Thelma) Horsley, Price; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 8, 11 a.m. at the Spanish Fork 4th LDS Ward Building, 381 East 400 North. Viewing will be Friday, Oct. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Burial, Spanish Fork Cemetery.


Dorothy Rayburn


PRICE – Dorothy Epperson Rayburn passed away at 81 years of age on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005.
Dorothy was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Nov. 9, 1923 to father, Thomas Earl, mother, Amy Jackson and sister, Ellen Epperson.
Dorothy had nine children, Tom, Robert, Jack, Mike, Ken, Peggy, Joe, Linda and Pamela. Dorothy raised all children as a single mother and subsequently took major parental responsibility in the lives of all her 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was an active member of the Castle Valley senior citizen center, where she traveled and played with their band.
Dorothy received honorary mention and awards in recognition for her years of voluntary service. Her hobbies included embroidery, crocheting and needlework.
Dorothy’s life was spent in devotion to her family. She has lived all over the western United States, in Utah, California, Arizona, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Nevada.
Dorothy selflessly strived to live close to and give support to all her children and grandchildren. They wish to express their love and appreciation of a treasured mother and grandmother, Dorothy Rayburn.
Dorothy is survived by sister, Ellen; eight other children and all her grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; son, Ken; and grandson, Adam.
