In Castle Valley Athletic Conference action last week, Mont Harmon’s football team continued their winning ways by beating up on the San Rafael Bulldogs 56-0.
On the first play of the game Joey Keller threw a 50 yard pass to Tysen Stevens, and the Pirates made a touchdown. That began the offensive roll.
The Pirates, which are now 6-0 in play, have scored a total of 216 points and have allowed no points by the opposition.
“I have done some checking and from what I can find no team in the history of the league has ever held all the opposition it played scoreless,” said Tim Tiller the Pirates head coach. “We may be able to continue that trend if we keep playing hard.”
Tiller says that the team has outstanding players in many positions.
“With Angel Romero and Nathan Martinez in the backfield I think our team is almost impossible to stop,” he added.
In another exciting game Helper Junior High lost by only two points in overtime to Canyon View, 30-28. The two teams tied in regulation 22-22.
The Rams are 1-2 against the opposition in the league this season.
The second of the big rivalry game this season between the two Carbon District junior high schools will be played on Oct. 5 when the teams meet at 7 p.m. on the Carbon High football field.
