Editor:
This letter is in regard to an article (Sun Advocate Aug. 25) about adding honorary names to the Carbon County Airport.
I knew Buck Davis, who was the airport manager, pilot and aviation business owner for many years. He was appreciated for all he did for the communities of Carbon and Emery counties through the many aviation activities in which he was involved. His unwavering pursuit of improvements to the airport over the years has made it one of the better and safer airports in the state.
Buck should be recognized individually by naming the field at the Carbon County airport the “Buck Davis Field.”
Government officials should be recognized for their contributions to improvement projects in other appropriate ways.
