Price officials present yard of the month awards

Price city officials presented four residents of the city with signs commending their homes. Judging took place the week of Aug. 14. Judging criteria included the following areas: neatness, clean and orderly, most beautiful, display of water conservation, uniqueness, well-trimmed curb and gutter and cleanliness of park strip.
Donald and Pam Durrant’s home on 800 South features a front lawn bordered with bird houses, bird baths, flower gardens and shrubs.
John and Dixie Gomez own a home on Fausett Lane in Price. Their parcel of land stretches across the road, including not only a front and back yard, but also a large area across the street from their house which includes a duck pond, trees and the rustic look of an old farm.
Howard Pitts’ home on 100 West features small patches of low-maintenance water-conserving plants and large areas of gravel.
Hal and Sandy Stevens’ family resides in a home on Apple Circle in Price. Sandy said that Hal’s green thumb should be credited with the variety of colors of flowers and the terrascaping in their yard.
