Lawrence Bryner
HELPER – Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, Lawrence Rex Bryner, 83, passed away surrounded by his family to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Sept. 7, 2005 of congestive heart failure.
He was born July 30, 1922 in his parents home in Martin, to James Levi and Ethel Anine Larsen Bryner. Rex married Fawn Gale as his eternal companion in the Manti LDS Temple Dec. 9, 1942.
He was an avid hunter and natural fisherman. He loved spending time with his family, especially camping and riding his horses.
He was proud to serve his country and served in the Infantry of the U.S. Army during World War II.
He spent most of his life working in the coal mining industry and retired in 1984. He also enjoyed farming the family farm in Martin where he was reared.
He was a disciplinarian and taught his children the value of hard work and a good education.
He was blessed with and is survived by four children, Dr. James R. (Maurine), John G. (Leah), Shannon A. (Roland) Hansen, Jay A. (Jan), 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all residing in Sandy. Preceded in death by loving companion; brothers, James Levi Jr., George Albert; and sister, LaVon (Reginald) Sidwell.
We would like to express our thanks and appreciation to his doctors, William Mackie and James Pearl, the staff at Alta Ridge Assisted Living Center and Affinity Hospice.
Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 12, in the Helper LDS Stake Center under the direction of Fausett Mortuary of Price. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
Phyllis Pell
Together Again
WELLINGTON – Phyllis Jean Cooper Pell, age 67, passed away Sept. 11, 2005 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, due to complications after surgery.
She was born April 7, 1938 in Pueblo, Colo., to Frances and Elsie Snook Cooper. Married John W. Pell, May 2, 1955 in Raton, N.M., he died May 3, 2004.
Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed most being with her family. She went to every activity her family participated in to show her support. She also enjoyed spenging time with her family at the stockcar races.
She was very talented and spent her time on many crafts where her skills were well known. Her favorite was painting ceramics at the Carbon County senior citizens center where she she enjoyed all her many friends there. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Melody, of Wellington; two sons, Bruce, of Wellington; Edward “Pete” (JayLynn), of Wellington; brothers, Walt (Dorris) Cooper, Joe Cooper, Irvin Cooper, Johnny Cooper, all of Colorado; sister, Peggy Cooper, of Price; brother, Arnold (Cheryl) Cooper, of Wellington; four grandchildren, Lane “LJ”, John “JD”, Bobbie and Garrit. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John; son, Darrel; and brother, Eddie Cooper.
Graveside service, Thursday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m., at the Wellington City Cemetery. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service.
