ABAJO MOUNTAINS Good fishing continues on the San Juan River for catfish up to 4 lbs. with traditional baits. Anglers are reminded to immediately release endangered fish.
BENCHES RESERVOIR Fair to good fishing can be expected for 10-inch planters. Best fishing occurs either in the early morning or late evening.
BOULGER RESERVOIR Best fishing occurs in the early morning or late evening with artificial flies.
CLEVELAND RESERVOIR Fishing remains slow.
DUCK FORK RESERVOIR Good fishing continues for tiger trout up to 15 inches in early morning or late evening. Good fly patterns include the renegade, mosquito, wooly bugger, leech and prince nymph. Special regulations apply. Artificial flies and lures only. Closed to the possession of cutthroat trout, which must be immediately released. The tiger trout limit is two.
ELECTRIC LAKE Success has been sporadic. Try a variety of artificial flies during evening hours. Cutthroats range from 12-16 inches.
FERRON RESERVOIR No report. Brook trout run 12-13 inches and are more prevalent than other trout types. Special regulations apply.
GIGLIOTTI POND (in Helper, Utah) Aquatics Manager Paul Birdsey reports excellent fishing for 12-14 inch rainbow trout. Anglers are encouraged to practice “catch and release” fishing to keep fishing action good. Anglers are reminded to dispose of their trash properly. Please don’t leave litter. Fish should be cleaned at home.
HUNTINGTON CREEK Fishing success has been sporadic. Best fishing occurs in the early morning or evening.. Special restrictions apply. Refer to the proclamation. Good artificial flies include a #14 beadhead ugly or #12 beadhead Montana in green and brown. Nightcrawlers continue to be the best bait
HUNTINGTON NORTH STATE PARK Wait until fall for better fishing.
HUNTINGTON RESERVOIR (on the Wasatch Plateau, Sanpete County) No recent report. Early morning has been the best time to fish. Popular baits have included straight nightcrawlers or dead minnows. The Jake’s Spin-a-Lure has been a good lure choice. A good fly pattern has been a ribbed beadhead leech in red or black. Special regulations apply. The reservoir is closed to the possession of cutthroat trout or trout with cutthroat markings.
JOES VALLEY RESERVOIR Wait until fall for better splake fishing. Tiger trout planted last year are up to about 10 inches long now. By next year, they should provide another good sport fish for anglers and another predator for the Utah chubs. Special regulations apply. The limit is two trout, only one over 22 inches. All trout between 15-22 inches must be immediately released.

LASAL MOUNTAINS Conservation Officer Joe Nicholson advises anglers of the health advisory in effect for Mill Creek. It is recommended that adults limit their consumption of fish caught here to no more than three servings per month. Pregnant women, nursing mothers and children under 12 should limit their consumption to no more than one serving per month. Colorado River anglers have been catching 10-14 inch channel catfish with shrimp or squid. Fishing has been slow at Medicine Lake, where a few anglers have hooked small trout on dry flies. Dark Canyon has been slow to fair. Most of the 10-12 inch trout are being caught on PowerBait fished off the bottom. Fishing at Oowah has been good for 10-12 inch trout, using PowerBait, salmon eggs, Jake’s Spin-A-Lures and rainbow-colored Rooster Tails. Fishing at Hidden Lake has been good for 10-12 inch trout, using salmon eggs, PowerBait or Jake’s spinners. Fishing at Don’s has been slow due to the moss build-up in the lake. Fly fishermen have had the best luck with small caddis or mayfly imitations.
LOWER FISH CREEK Access from U.S. Highway 6 is open, and a good volume of water continues to flow in the creek. Try a #14 beadhead ugly, #10 Montana nymph or #10-12 leech.
MILLER’S FLAT RESERVOIR Fishing has been fair for 10-14 inch rainbow trout, which are most easily caught in the evening on small dry flies or from the dam with bait.
PETES HOLE Fishing continues to be good with artificial flies in the morning or evening.
POTTERS PONDS Fishing success has been sporadic for 8-10 inch rainbow trout. Try matching the evening insect hatch for best results.
SCOFIELD RESERVOIR Aquatics Biologist Justin Hart performed a creel survey at Scofield this past weekend. Fishing was slow, but steady for shoreline anglers. Hot spots seemed to be the north boat ramp, where anglers used a variety of PowerBait colors. The other good spot was on the west side at the DWR angler access, where one lady angler did very well with a worm and marshmallow. She caught a 4.5 lb. cutthroat and numerous 15-inch rainbow trout with this tackle. Some float tubers did well on the south part of the lake using caddis imitations. Boaters continue to do best. Most were anchored, and were fishing with PowerBait or worms. Some trolled pop gear and worms or spinners. Justin reported that the average fish for boaters was 15 inches and 1.5 lbs. Most boats had their limits of fish. As the water cools, fishing should pick up for shoreline anglers.
SNOW LAKE Fishing has been fair.
SOUP BOWL Fishing has been good with small dry flies in the evening.
SPINNERS RESERVOIR Slow fishing continues, although the lake holds a few large trout.
WILLOW LAKE Several anglers have reported excellent fishing success. Try artificial flies at dawn or dusk.
WRIGLEY SPRINGS RESERVOIR Fishing success has been variable.
