Mona Evans
HELPER – Ramona Gene Kilcrease Evans, age 71, passed away August 1, 2005.
She was born Oct. 30, 1933 in Clarksville, Ark., to Garland and Lucille Steel Kilcrease. Married Vernon Reese Evans June 13, 1953 in Price; he died Sept. 8, 1998.
Mona was a longtime resident of Carbon County and a member of the Baptist Church.
She loved to crochet. She enjoyed spending time with her family and babysitting her great-granddaughter, Katie.
Survived by two sons, Reese (Virginia) Evans, Price; Randy (Desty) Evans, Mineral Wells, Texas; five brothers and four sisters, David Kilcrease, Key Largo, Fla.; Margaret (Tony) Pinarelli, Santee, Calif.; Linda Crowe, Price; Gary (Connie) Kilcrease, Price; Larry (Carol) Kilcrease, Spokane, Wash.; Judy (Kelly) Fausett, Price; Brent (Joan) Kilcrease, Wellington; Pam (Ray) Clark, Deltona, Fla.; Mike (Martha) Kilcrease, Payson; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Kerr, Monica Evans, Brandi Evans and great-granddaughter, Katie Kerr. Preceded in death by parents, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral service Friday, Aug. 5, 2 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
LeRoy Thayn
WELLINGTON – LeRoy Gene Thayn, our awesome Dad, left this world for a better one on Aug. 1, 2005.
LeRoy was born in Price on June 30, 1930 to John Johnson Thayn and Della Afton Gillespie. He was the second of eight children.
As a young boy he grew up on the family farm and spent many happy hours there. Dad loved Utah. He spent many hours camping and fishing in the Uintah Mountains and enjoyed the red rocks of Moab.
He graduated from Carbon High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was stationed for part of his service duties at Ft. Lewis in Tacoma, Wash., where he met the love of his life, Carol Elaine Lott. Theirs was a life full of fun and joy, and service to God. They were married for 49 years, until she preceded him in death.
They raised a family of seven children who survived them both. Debra (Bruce) Hammer, Shanna (Garry) Griffiths, Ronda (Gary) Keilbart, Tawna (Ronald) Stapley, Cary (Connie) Thayn, Pamela (Ryan) Torgerson, and Jarin (Sarah) Thayn. Roy and Carol are also survived by 39 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by parents, one brother and one grandson.
On Aug. 4, LeRoy’s family will have a viewing at 9 a.m. and a memorial service at 10 a.m. in Mesa, Ariz., at the Mesa LDS Stake Center, 1050 S. Hobson. On Aug. 6 in Wellington his family will have a viewing at 9 a.m. and funeral at 10 a.m. in the Wellington LDS Stake Center, 935 E. Main. Burial will follow the services at the Wellington City Cemetery.
Maxine Dyett
PRICE – Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, Maxine Warren Dyett, age 71, passed away July 31, 2005 in Price.
Born Aug. 8, 1933 in Mapleton to Burton and LaRie Dibble Warren. Married Ralph Dyett July 31, 1954 in Elko, Nev.
“Mackie” loved her Wendover trips and playing cards with her family and friends. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan and she watched every game. She enjoyed camping, reading and especially caring for her family and grandchildren. “Mackie” will be dearly missed by her “Old Man,” her family, and a community of friends.
Survived by loving husband of 51 years, Ralph Dyett, Price; son, David (Missy) Dyett, Layton; daughters, Christy Dyett, Tucson, Ariz.; Martie Dyett, Price; four grandchildren, Ashley, Kinnison, Jordan and Jack; stepmother, Burniece Warren, Provo; sister, Connie (Carlos) Perkins, Salt Lake; and brother, Dean Warren, Provo. Preceded in death by parents; and sister, Glenna Burt.
Funeral service Friday, Aug. 5, 11 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street, Price. Family will be at Mitchell’s Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
