Catherine Haaser
OGDEN – Catherine Markakis Haaser, age 68, passed away June 9, 2005, at her home after an extended illness.
She was born March 2, 1937, in Price to Nick and Irene Antonakis Markakis. She married Karl Haaser Nov. 19, 1961, at the Greek Orthodox Church in Price.
She traveled with her husband to numerous locations while he was employed by the U.S. Forest Service and moved to Ogden in 1971 where they have lived since that time.
She is survived by husband, Karl Haaser; three sons, Craig, Bill, John (Stacie); three grandchildren, all of Ogden. Also surviving are brothers, Mike of Las Vegas, Nev.; Jay of Salt Lake City; sister, Mary Piantes of Las Vegas, Nev.; and sister-in-law, Deloris Markakis of Price. She was preceded in death by parents; infant brother; and brothers, Alex and Mitch.
Friends and family may gather at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. with graveside service following at 3 p.m. at Ogden City Cemetery, 20th and Madison.

Tracy Poulos
HUNTINGTON – Tracy Nels Tucker Poulos, age 41, passed away June 6, 2005, in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born Nov. 26, 1963, in Price to Gery and Margie Christensen Tucker. After Margie’s death when he was three weeks old, he was adopted and raised by George and Florence Tucker Poulos.
He attended Emery High School and graduated from Salina High School after which he served in the U.S. Air Force. He became a CNA for the State of California in order to care for his special friend, Robin Brown. After her health declined, they moved to San Antonio so she could be close to her family where he unexpectedly passed away of a heart attack.
Tracy is survived by mother, Florence Poulos of Aurora; father, Gery Tucker of Salt Lake City; special friend, Robin Brown of Texas; sisters, Troy Lynn Tucker of Price; Dawna and Reeve Cook of Huntington; Ruth Wayman of Aurora; Merrillee and John Zmerzlikar of Helper; and brother, Jerry Wayman of Salt Lake City.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 14, noon, in the Cleveland Cemetery, under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Thomas Needs
PRICE – Thomas John Needs, age 59, passed away June 12, 2005, quietly in his sleep.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Oct. 11, 1945.
Tom was greatly loved by all who knew him. He lived for many years in Salt Lake City and moved to Price in 1988, where he made his home for the past 17 years.
Tom worked happily and successfully as an engineer in both Ohio and Utah. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many activities, including four-wheeling with the Carbon County King Krawlers. He enjoyed reading and writing poetry. He was also considered a great philosopher and wonderful father and grandfather by his family.
Tom is survived by four children, Thomas J. Needs Jr. (Annie), Christopher M. Needs, Heather N. Miller (Kevin), Adam J. Needs and four grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Susan Marconi (Edward) and brothers, Walter Needs and Michael Needs.
Memorial services will be Friday, June 17, noon, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial in Salt Lake City, (801) 466-8687.
Rex Crank Jr.
EAST CARBON – Rector Crank Jr., age 75, passed away peacefully at his home in East Carbon on June 8, 2005, while surrounded by his family.
Married Carolyn Kane Dec. 16, 1950, in Winatchee, Wash., later divorced. Married Murial “Hope” Sullivan Nov. 11, 1974, in Elko, Nev., she died July 9, 1998.
Rex honorably served 25 years in the United States Air Force as a police officer and retired in 1973. He then settled in East Carbon and worked in the Sunnyside mine for seven years. Rex enjoyed being a member of and going to the VFW. He was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting and fishing. He had a great love for art.
Survived by four children, Carla P. Klock, Bill Crank, Martha R. Tucker, Caroline M. Hahn; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
Memorial service was Sunday, June 12, at Mitchell Funeral Home with viewing one hour prior to service.
