Couples have the choice of using the internet to plan and book that perfect honeymoon, or choosing a trusted travel agent who will be full of knowledge and information to assist them in making their plans.

In a rural area like Carbon County, chances are newlyweds will be going away for their honeymoons.
A honeymoon is the trip a married couple will never forget and newlyweds need to communicate with their mate and find out what their honeymoon expectations are. If expectations can be matched, honeymoon planning is easy and will make a trip of a lifetime.
Couples need to remember that a honeymoon is not a vacation where they can run off and play, it is a chance for a little romance between newlyweds before they have to rejoin their normal life at home. A honeymoon should be full of romance and the couple should plan to be together for most of it.
A few questions that need to be discussed before planning for the perfect honeymoon begins, are:
•Does the couple want to honeymoon close to home or half way around the world?
•What kind of weather do they want?
•How much do they want to spend?
•Do they want to take a cruise or stay at a resort?
If a couple answers all of these questions together, they are sure to find the perfect honeymoon spot, but perfect honeymoons don’t just happen, just like most vacations, they have to be carefully planned.
Couples should never forget to get information on local attractions to see before they choose their destination. Calling local tourist boards for brochures and information on the most romantic restaurants, the most exciting things to see or do and more before leaving home is an easy way of obtaining information on local attractions.
The place chosen to be the honeymoon destination is the key to honeymoon happiness.
Some of the most popular destinations for newlyweds are Hawaii, Jamaica, Mexico, Tahiti, Italy, Las Vegas, and Bermuda.
The most popular of all has been the Hawaiian Islands for the last several years. This may be because Hawaii is top for affordability, food, nightlife, romance and snorkeling and diving. The islands also have the most beautiful beaches and scenery for the cost, you can even get up close to volcanoes all over the islands.
Whether a couple plans on having a relaxing honeymoon or an action filled one, they should always look at local attractions.
If going to Hawaii, there are plenty of opportunities to have fun. Couples can lounge on the beach sipping tropical drinks, or scuba dive or swim with tropical fish. There are also many tours that are given in Hawaii. Couples can tour the volcanoes of the Hawaiian islands and learn mythology about the Hawaiian culture at the same time.
Newlyweds can even spend time shopping in the center of Hawaii where there are many stores to choose from. It’s always recommended to buy a few souvenirs along the way.
If a couple decides to take a cruise, everything they need is provided for them. Cruise ships have their own swimming pools along with dancing classes, gyms and many other exciting activities.
Cruise ships stop at several locations during the trip, giving couples the chance to visit many different places rather than just one.
Cruises are also stocked with the most appetizing of foods, all included with the price of tickets. The price of a cruise can also be less expensive than a trip to a certain destination. Everything is included in the price of the tickets, and the only thing a couple would have to pay for is if they decide to go shopping at stops along the way.
If the couple is still unsure of where to honeymoon, they can always ask their friends and family where they’ve been, or talk to a travel agent. There are a few travel agencies in Carbon County, including First Class Travel and Price Travel, that can help couples decide where to go and what hotel to stay at.
It never hurts to talk to an expert on the subject, and travel agents can find the best rates available. Consulting a travel agent can also help ease planning tension. Travel agents can help decide what is best for a couples and know what to check for when booking hotels and tours.
Destination weddings should also be kept in mind by couples. Destination weddings are becoming very popular and many couples are choosing to marry in the same place that they honeymoon. This can save a considerable amount of money and hassle.
Most hotels will be happy to arrange a wedding and even price it as part of the package. Some hotels even offer free weddings.
Some couples decide to bring a few members of the family or a small wedding party whose members might stay in the same resort for a weekend, then leave the couple alone for the rest of the week.
After deciding a destination, couples need to decide where they will stay on their honeymoon. Couples should always keep a budget in mind when making hotel plans.
Before booking a hotel, a couple should find out where the hotel is located. If it is far from town, they will have to budget for extra taxi fares.
If the couple decides to take a tour while on their honeymoon, the text inside of brochures should be read. If this is done, they can determine what meals and sightseeing trips are included in the tour.
A couple needs to be diligent when it comes to planning. The more homework that is done, the more romantic, and the more fun a honeymoon will be for a couple. A few things couples need to make sure they do when planning are:
•Be specific when booking for a honeymoon.
•Outline needs and interests to a travel agent.
•Ask for specific airline seats, cruise ship cabins and/or type of room that are wanted. This will prevent the couple from being disappointed when they reach their destination.
•Ask how they will arrive at the hotel from the airline terminal.
•Specify the time of day they would like to leave home or arrive at your destination.
Now that a choice has been made for the honeymoon, couples should make sure that it will stay perfect when they arrive.
Writing down a schedule of everything they want to do while away can help prevent a couple from overlooking an attraction they want to see.
A few general travel tips that should be followed to have a memorable honeymoon are:
•Write name and address inside and outside your bags.
•Carry basic essentials on board.
•Check batteries in cameras and bring extras before departing on your trip.
•Bring plenty of film.
•Check what documents are needed to leave and enter a home country.
•Obtain an international drivers’ license if a couple plans on renting a car. They are available through the local AAA.
•Take books or reading material to keep occupied on the plane.
•Take all medicines and toiletries that are needed for the trip. Do not rely on finding them easily in a foreign country.
•Put cash and valuables in hotel safes.
•A calculator may come in handy if going outside a home country.
•Reconfirm all flights.
•Pack an extra bag to carry purchases.
When a couple arrives at the hotel, they shouldn’t unpack immediately. Couples should check to see that everything they want is there. They should ask the bellboy to wait as they check.
If the room is not to their liking, they can go to the lobby, explain it’s their honeymoon and the hotel should have no problem in changing it.
A couple should check to see if the bed is the right size, the bathroom is clean, theres a “do not disturb” sign and even make sure they have a working television and remote and no dripping faucets that can get annoying while having a romantic dinner.
If everything is good, they can move in and get comfortable. If they forgot something, housekeeping can be called. Housekeeping can bring extra towels, pillows, a hairdryer and even an iron. After everything is situated in the hotel, the couple can start their honeymoon off right.
If arriving at a warm island destination like Hawaii, a couple can have a romantic candlelit dinner and a barefoot walk on the beach under the moon on their first night there.
The next day could be filled with adventure or romance.
A couple could enjoy a romantic breakfast in bed, followed by an enjoyable walk on the beach.
They could also go snorkeling or swimming in the ocean and then relax on the sand drinking tropical drinks.
It would be a memorable night with the chance of a candlelit dinner with a romantic bottle of wine.
If a couple decides to go somewhere cold like Aspen, they could enjoy a nice quiet dinner on the first night followed by sipping hot chocolate in front of a roaring fire inside their room.
The next day could be spent skiing on the slopes followed by a nice private dinner in their room wher they could have some time alone.
Whatever a couple decides to do while on their honeymoon, they should always expect to compromise with each other so both can thoroughly enjoy the time spent together.
