PRICE – Cody Tod Sherman, age 27, returned to his Heavenly Father May 28, 2005, at Lake Powell.
He was born Oct. 25, 1977, in Provo to William Howard and Marshal Dawn Wilson Sherman. He married Nichole Jean Parlett Dec. 24, 1999, in Cleveland, later divorced.
Above all else, Cody’s children, Jordan 5, and Dylan 3, were the love of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved hunting and fishing. He had a (mischievous) zest for life and was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his family and many friends he leaves behind.
He is survived by children, Jordan Brooke and Dylan Gage of Price; parents, Bill and Marsha Sherman of Orangeville; brother, Jason (Monica) Sherman of Provo; sisters, Nacole (Casey) Toomer of Orangeville; Lacee (Brian) Turner of Eagle Mountain; and Brandee (Jesse) Montoya of Orangeville. Also survived by grandparents, Marshan Wilson of Castle Dale, Jack and Joyce Sherman of California; five nephews, four nieces and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by grandparents, Colleen and Vern Ohm.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 6, 11 a.m., in the Orangeville 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 165 W. 800 North, in Castle Dale where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial, Castle Dale Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.


Athena Kontas


PRICE – Athena D. Konakis Himonas Kontas, age 87, passed away May 31, 2005, in Price.
Born July 6, 1917, in Sunnyside, to Fotis M. and Ellen Belaros Konakis. Married Costandinos Himonas in Price in 1933, he died Oct. 14, 1939. Married Tony Kontas in Price in 1941, he died in 1944.
Athena was an active member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church where she was a member of the choir and the Philoptochos Society. She was a lifelong resident of Carbon County where she retired from Woolworths. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and working in her garden.
“May her memory be eternal.”
Survived by four sons, George (Chris) Himonas, Gust (Vale) Himonas, both of Price; Nick (Joyce) Kontas, Denver, Colo.; Frank (BoAnn) Kontas, Steamboat Springs, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Stacy Himonas, Spring Glen; four sisters, Olga Halamandaris, Maryland; Bessie Markos, Christine (Angelo) Cuatto, both of Salt Lake City; Georgia Hohlios, Clearfield; brother, Stanley (Mary) Konakis, Elko, Nev.; sister-in-law, Dolores Konakis, Elko, Nev.; six grandchildren, Deno (Lisa), Michael, Lori Ann (Ken), Stavros, Aime, Angela, six great-grandchildren, Alexa, Kate, Aili, Chloe, Gabriella and Annalise. Preceded in death by parents; husbands; son, Mike Himonas; three brothers, Nick, Gust and Marion Konakis; and sister, Stella Dokas Solis.
Funeral service Saturday, June 4, 11 a.m., Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Trisagion service Friday evening, 7 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home with the Very Rev. Father Athanasios Emmert officiating. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery. In lieu of flower the family suggests contributions to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 688, Price, UT 84501.
