Willard Bay dredging sets boating restrictions

By Sun Advocate

Dredging begins at Willard Bay State Park South Marina on Monday, May 9. The project should be complete prior to Memorial Day weekend.
Vessel launching and retrieval will be available most days, however, there may be times when the launch ramp is blocked causing some inconvenience.
“After three years, the necessary permits were finally secured and funding available for this project,” stated Park Manager Roland Bringhurst. “While water levels are currently adequate for boat launching, we are looking toward the future and want to be prepared for low water levels.” The public is urged to use extreme caution when launching and retrieving boats at the South Marina. Dredging cables will not be visible and could cause damage to boats. Stay within the areas marked by buoys.
Recreationists are urged to use the North Marina during this time.
