Moira Prichard, the Carbon Family Resource Center coordinator, holds some of the materials that are lent by the facility for use by families throughout Carbon County. The center allows people to check out educational toys, packets, books and videos at no charge. The program has been developed to promote early childhood literacy and is funded by Vista and a grant from the Utah Department of Education and the PTA. All families, regardless of income, are welcome to get materials. All a family must do is file an application with the coordinator. Prichard says that parenting resources are available at the center as well. The center has been open at 685 East 200 South in Price since September.
