Foreign exchange students Paula Villela from Brazil, Jae Kim from Korea, Ela Mertes from Germany, Hanako Tsuchiya from Venezuela and Chatbodindr “Tony” Choochuay from Thailand sit at a table in the Grand Canyon at Carbon High as they near the end of the current school year. Exchange student coordinator Melissa Swensen says that the school is looking for families to host more exchange students next year. She is presently interviewing families who would like the experience of having a foreign student in their home which give them the experience of learning about a foreign culture. Swensen says that all students assigned to homes speak English, are covered by full medical insurance and have their own spending money. For participating families receive a travel scholarship worth up to $1000 off the cost of a AIFS study/travel abroad program. Those that are interested should call Swensen at 637-8680.
