Carbon High softball victorious against Delta

Carbon High softball beat the Rabbits 14-11 in a Tuesday home game.
Carbon’s girls took an early lead scoring seven runs in the first inning.
Delta took that lead down to five after holding the Lady Dinos to no runs in the second.
The third inning tied it back up as the Rabbits brought six runners in, while Carbon brought one in.
The game was still tied at eight at the top of the fifth. Delta scored one run, but Carbon responded with a triple by Lacey Timothy and finished the inning ahead by three.
Carbon cinched the win as they kept the Rabbits from scoring in the sixth and scored two.
Delta had 12 hits, compared to Carbon’s 17.
Delta had a home run, two triples and a pair of doubles.
In addition to Timothy’s triple, Carbon’s Dusty Wilder had a double-base hit.
Carbon had four steals, and Brooke Herrick went 4-for-5.
The win gives Carbon a 1-1 record in the region, with an 8-4 record overall.
