Kristy Fredrickson, Shelly Wright and Melissa Hales place shoes on the roof at the Carbon County Family Support and Children’s Justice Center in Price.
In all, 207 shoes were placed on the roof at the facility. Every shoe represents an abuse case reported in Carbon County during 2004.
The Utah Department of Children and Family Services determined that abuse was purportedly taking place in all 207 cases.
The facility in Price is composed of two parts:
•The Carbon County Children’s Justice Center.
The center advocates children’s rights in abuse cases.
•The Carbon County Family Support Center.
The center provides services to families who need assistance in learning job-search and domestic skills.
