A city employee installs lighting for a surveillance camera in Terrace Hills Park in Price. The camera is one of four installed on city grounds for security purposes. Other cameras are located at the Desert Wave Pool, the city library and the parking lot south of the civic center. Police Captain Kevin Drolc explained that the city plans to install two more. The camera installed in Terrace Hills Park will provide surveillance for the entire park, including the BMX track and skate park; the surrounding area, including residential areas and Castle Valley Center; and as far away as the water tank on county land northeast of the city. The cameras are connected to the city’s police network and are controllable from police headquarters and squad cars in radio contact with headquarters.
