Angel Romero, 14 years old, took the Utah State Golden Gloves championship in weight division 120 recently. Romero is part of the Price Elks Boxing Club which now has over 40 kids coming out for the program.
The club will be sponsoring a Utah vs. Wyoming match on April 2 at 7 p.m. in the Elks Club.
They are also going to have matches during International Days this summer where kids from five to six states will be coming to test their skills against one another.
The kids on the team practice between 5 pm and 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Art Hunsaker, one of the coaches says that for matches they need judges to help them. He told the Sun Advocate that even if someone knows very little about boxing, he is arranging for a training class for them. Anyone who is interested in helping out should contact the boxing club.
