Zenna Linton
HUNTINGTON/MINNESOTA-Zenna Irene Linton (Jensen), age 82, of Cambridge, Minn., formerly of Anoka, Minn. and Huntington, moved back to Minnesota in May, 2001. She was called home to her Father in Heaven after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers on December 19, 2004.
Born January 5, 1922 in Cleveland. Married O. Warne Linton Nov. 24, 1946 in Elko, Nev., marriage solemnized in Manti LDS Temple on June 3, 1961.
A graduate of North Emery High School, class of 1940. Active member all her life in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. Zenna was baptized a member of the church, in a Cleveland irrigation ditch August, 1930.
Zenna was a pioneer in helping to establish the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Anoka area. She served as Anoka Ward Relief Society President. Her greater love was working in the ward primary where she served as secretary for many years and as a teacher several years. Zenna’s favorite hymn was, “I Am A Child of God.”
She and Warne served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the McAllen Texas Mission, December 1996 to March 1998, working in the Family History Library.
Zenna was an operator for Mountain States Bell Telephone Company during WWII in Price. After her marriage she transferred to NW Bell at the Anoka office. She worked in this office until she was employed as receptionist and operator of the Anoka County switchboard, a position she held for 20 years, retiring in September 1981 when she and Warne moved to Utah.
Zenna and Warne loved to travel. They made numerous trips between Utah and Minnesota. Zenna was a chaperon for the St. Francis High School Choir on two trips to Europe.
Survived by husband, Warne; son, Robert (Sara), Braham, Minn.; foster son, Sean Dooley; Dublin, Calif.; brother, Ray (Alice) of Price; and seven foreign exchange daughters.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, at Strike Funeral Home, Cambridge Chapel. Interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Anoka Chapel. LaPreal Birch
PRICE – LaPreal Sanderson Birch, age 77, passed away Dec. 17, 2004 at her home.
She was born Sept. 14, 1927 in Standardville, to Walter and Mildred Newell Sanderson. Married Jack Leon Birch Nov. 24, 1945 in Price.
She was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and wonderful friend to all. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her family. LaPreal’s greatest love and enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by husband, Jack L. Birch, Price; children, Lynn (James) Alderson, Price; Gene (Karen) Birch, Spring Glen; David (Marie) Birch; James (Vickie) Birch, both of Price; Todd (Karen) Davis, Carbonville; son-in-law, Ricci Gomez, Delta, Colo.; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; son, Lonnie Birch; daughter, Beth Ann Gomez; three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service Tuesday, Dec. 21, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
John Stewart Jr.
PRICE – John R. Stewart Jr., age 75, passed away Dec. 18, 2004 in Price.
He was born April 9, 1929 in Seattle, Wash., to John R. Stewart Sr., and Minnie Marie Jacobus Stewart. He married Nita Barker Nov. 5, 1982 in East Carbon.
John served his country faithfully in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was highly decorated for his service. He loved children and especially loved spending time with his own grandchildren. He was a member of the LDS Church.
He is survived by wife, Nita of Price; children, Steve Stewart of Tulsa, Okla.; Mike Stewart of Denver, Colo.; Glen Gillespie of Price; Anna Marie Stewart of Greeley, Colo.; Deborah Hall of Price; Teresa (Robert) Jimenez of Cedar City; Anita (Steve) Radmall of Price; Roxanna (DJ) Clark of Price; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Colleen White and Jackie Lundgrene. He was preceded in death by parents and two brothers.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, Dec. 22, 11 a.m., at Fausett Mortuary in Price.
Mabel Peterson
PRICE – Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and longtime friend, Mabel Amy McCourt Peterson, age 92, passed away Dec. 17, 2004 at her home.
She was born Dec. 7, 1912 in Antelope, to Thomas and Goldia Bromley McCourt. Married Morgan E. Peterson Nov. 24, 1928 in Price; he died Feb. 6, 1983.
She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, baking, gardening and canning. Mabel was very family oriented, friendly, outgoing and she had a deep love for animals. She was the author of many poems and she loved reciting poetry and stories. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Nederhouser, Salt Lake City; nine loving great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, Ned McCourt, Wellington; Ivan McCourt, East Carbon; Pat McCourt, Pahrump, Nev.; and Nora Bunch, Meyer, Ariz. Preceded in death by daughter, Enid B. Gonzalo; grandson, Austin B. Peterson; and brother, Thomas McCourt.

Joanne Holt
PRICE – Our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Joanne Welch Holt, 68, returned to her Heavenly Father on Dec. 16, 2004 in Price.
She was born July 1, 1936 in Miami, Ariz. to John Henry and Verda Tyler Welch. She married Charles Harold Holt in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple on July 20, 1956.
She was raised in Miami, Ariz. and graduated in 1954 from Miami High School. They moved to Indio, Calif. where Joanne worked for the Desert Sands Unified School District as an attendance clerk, retiring in December 1992. The family resided in Indio, Calif. until moving to Price in 2001. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She had a strong faith and loved the blessings of the gospel. She loved music and taught piano lessons for many years and also loved all kinds of crafts. Her greatest joy in life was found in her family whom she was devoted to and supported in every way. Joanne had many special friends because of her loving personality and kind heart.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Harold Holt of Price; children, Debbie (Cardell) Sackett of Price; Jeff (Glenda) Holt of Gilbert, Ariz.; Kelly and Karen Holt of Price; 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Deene (Kent) Johnson of Tempe, Ariz.; and Jeanette (Jim) Massey of Queen Creek, Ariz. She was preceded in death by parents; aunt, Clara Lincoln; half brother, Bernard Welch; and great-grandson, Chandler Chaffin.
Friends may greet the family on Thursday, Dec. 23, 11 a.m., to noon at the Gordon Creek LDS Ward Chapel, 175 N. 1280 West (Westwood Subdivision), Price. Funeral services will be held at the church at noon. Interment Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Milton Wilson
PRICE – Milton C. “Cale” Wilson, age 34, returned to his Heavenly Father Dec. 16, 2004 at home under the love and care of his family.
He was born Sept. 4, 1970 in Price to Milton M. and Gladys A. Young Wilson. He married Genefer Christensen, later divorced.
Cale had a love of the outdoors, camping and 4-wheeling (especially in Moab) and spending time with his family. He was also skilled at setting up stereo and sound systems. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Cale is survived by one son, Brandon C. Wilson; mother, Gladys; brother, John; sisters, Elaine Snyder and Barbara West, all of Carbonville; Carol Dawson of Washington; Mary Israel of Cleveland and Wendy Hicks of Wellington; and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by fiancee, Milissa Giacoleto and her daughter, Stephanie. Preceded in death by father, Milton; sister, Linda; baby brother, Thomas; and two brothers-in-law, Walter Dawson and Alfred Willis.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m., in the Gordon Creek LDS Chapel, 175 N. 1280 West, behind the hospital, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial, Price City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
