Emergency workers attempt to detangle two trucks after a collision on Thursday afternoon. Three youths were seriously injured, including the 16-year-old female driver and two 14-year-old passengers. The mishap apparently occurred when the eastbound pickup left the road on the right and then overcorrected, causing the truck to spin into the other lane and hit the large vehicle. The force of the crash drove part of the dashboard into the truck’s cab, causing severe injuries to one of the young passengers. The occupants of the pickup were first transported to CastleView Hospital and later at least one of the passengers was flown by lifeflight to the Wasatch Front. The driver of the large truck, Jeffrey Parkhurst, 27, of Salt Lake, was not injured in the crash. No citations have been issued.
