Morgan Warburton, a stand out star for Carbon High School in three sports has signed a letter of intent to attend and play basketball for the University of Utah starting next season.
Warburton, who was the recent MVP at the 3A state volleyball tournament when she and her teammates won the state championship, is also considered one of the best basketball recruits in the state this year.
When Warburton was in the eighth grade she won the Elks National Hoop Shoot championship after competing against literally thousands of girls her same age from across the country.
From the time she was a freshman, many college coaches came to see her play and she has had all state honors in the volleyball, basketball and softball since her high school career began.
In her junior year she led the team with 18.3 points, nine rebounds and seven steals per game.
“Morgan could become the best point guard to ever play for Utah,” said Ute coach Elane Elliot after the signing.
Many expect her to be one of the top players in 3A this year.
