A City Sanitation employee calls for help after this garbage truck sunk into the pavement during it’s route on Thursday. Driver Doug Wayman said he stopped to pick up a can and the front end of the truck began to sink into the road where new pavement was laid recently. As soon as he saw what was happening he tried to back up, and the rear end of the truck began to do the same thing. It put the truck in a strange position because the right side was down to it’s axles in fill and asphalt and the left side was standing on top of the road. The combination of a new roadway and the extremely wet weather probably caused the situation.
