The Utah State Road 10 corridor study team will conduct a public meeting Sept. 21 to present the final proposed alternatives for SR-10 to local residents.
The corridor encompasses the section of SR-10 between Stake Farm Road and U.S. Highway 6.
The open house format meeting is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. in the cafeteria at the Carbon School District offices, located at 251 West 400 North in Price. The agenda includes brief presentations at 1:15 p.m. and 3 p.m.
With the help of public comments, the SR-10 corridor study team evaluated the preliminary preferred alternatives and selected options meeting the study’s goals and objectives.
The selected alternatives include the four/five lane expansion, four/three lane expansion, and no-build.
Variations of the four/five lane and four/three lane alternatives are being considered to minimize impacts and will be presented at the open house.
Following the open house, the study team will finalize the corridor study and submit the document to the Utah Department of Transportation () for review.
SR-10 is a major north-south corridor for the southern end of Carbon County.
Critical elements like traffic demands, access to the roadway, and safety improvements will be addressed as part of the analysis.
The results will provide UDOT with the alternatives that may lead to a future project.
In an unrelated local matter, UDOT has released the U.S. 6 draft environmental statement and section four evaluation to the College of Eastern Utah Library for review by citizens.
The study encompasses the corridor from Spanish Fork to Green River, which passes through Utah.
Carbon County residents will have from Sept. 10 to Oct. 29 to view the documents and send comments to UDOT representatives.
The documents are available in the reference department at the college library.
