Allie Stewart and Kim Bunnell rise to block an Emery attack during the 24-school tournament Carbon hosted on Sept. 10 and 11.
According to Carbon coach Bruce Bean, the Lady Dinos’ large athletic facilities provided good accommodations for the weekend rush of athletes and their families.
In addition to help from the Carbon varsity players, officiating and organizing help was given by the College of Eastern Utah volleyball players. A sophomore tournament also took place at the CEU Bunnell-Dmitrich Athletic Center.
Athletic events, such as the annual volleyball tournament, bring economic dollars to the area and broaden the scope of athletic competition available to local youth sport participants.
Local coaches and athletic organizers are constantly seeking opportunities for their players, while also looking for ways to benefit the community.
