Carbon High football hosts two home games to begin 2004 year
The Carbon High Dinos will begin the 2004 football season with a home game against San Juan on Friday, Aug. 20.
The game begins at 7 p.m. on the Carbon High football field.
The following week, the Dinos will host Uintah on Friday, Aug. 27.
A large team and a strong incoming sophomore class await eager Carbon fans.
Deadline for youth tackle football registrations approaching
Carbon County Recreation is taking registrations for both players and cheerleaders for the 2004 Youth Tackle Football season. The deadline for registration is August 31, 2004.
The cheerleading fee includes a uniform. Any child in grades fifth through eighth who are interested in playing football or cheerleading can contact Carbon County Recreation at 637-5092.
Lady Eagle alumni game inaugurates 2004 volleyball season
The annual alumni game of the College of Eastern Utah Lady Eagles will take place at the Bunnell-Dmitrich Athletic Center (BDAC) on Aug. 21.
The game begins at 5 p.m.
The 2004 team will face an all-star team of past CEU players in a regular game format.
This season marks the 10th year head coach Brent Martindale has been with the team and the alumni game will be an anniversary celebration for all current and past players.
Grand opening of new shotgun shooting facility set for Aug. 28
Half-priced shotgun shooting and free hot dogs and soft drinks will be available Aug. 28 at the grand opening of the newly renovated shotgun shooting facility at the Lee Kay Center for Hunter Education, 6000 W. 2100 S. in Salt Lake City.
The renovated facility is known as the Great Salt Lake Gun Club. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays, with extended hours for league shooting.
The club includes 16 traps and four skeet overlays, along with a 3,000 square foot clubhouse facility that includes a renovated pro shop and snack bar.
