Robert ‘Tiny’ Webster
CEDAR CITY – Robert Douglas Webster passed away peacefully on Aug. 9, 2004 at his home in Cedar City.
He was born to Daniel Garth and Dolores DeMille Webster on July 26, 1957.
Robert attended school in Cedar City and graduated from Cedar High in 1975. He attended SUSC for a short period of time after high school.
Robert worked in the Cedar City Iron Mine for Utah International during the mid-70s.
On Nov. 11, 1977, he married his loving wife, Jana Marcell Davis, in Payson.
Robert later moved with his family to Price to work in the coal mine for Plateau Mining Co. He loved mining coal and said coal mining was in his blood.
He also loved to hunt, fish, golf, stay at the family cabin and watch his children grow.
Before Robert returned home to his Heavenly Father, he was able to enjoy the life of his first grandson, Brayden Robert.
He is survived by his wife Jana; his children, Chase, Kristin, Sean, Corey; and grandson, Brayden all of Price; his mother, Dolores Webster of Cedar City; brothers, Dan (Brenda) of Cedar City, Ken ( Terri ) of St. George; also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other extended family. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Garth Webster.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Cedar City 2nd/8th LDS Ward Chapel, 212 West 200 South. Friends may call Wednesday, Aug. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery. Lois McCourt
COLUMBIA – Lois Staker McCourt, our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Aug. 9, 2004, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in a log cabin on Nov. 17, 1918 in Lawrence to Alden O. Staker and Annie Margaret Thomas. She attended schools in Lawrence and Huntington, where she was a member of the speech and debate teams. She took top honors and won the Emery County speech contest.
On Dec. 24, 1937, she married Ivan D. McCourt in Law-rence. They were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple.
For 66 years, they made their home in Columbia (East Carbon) where they had many great friends and neighbors.
Lois was a member of the LDS Church, where she was a Relief Society and Primary teacher. She was also the ward organist and organist for other organizations for many years.
She loved to play the piano and sing. She filled the home with beautiful music.
She made many, many beautiful afghans, quilts and embroidery items.
She loved her garden, especially the flower garden. She loved to can the produce from the fruit trees and vegetable garden.
Lois was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers in the Las Vegas Calico Chapter.
She was a loving mother to Connie and Donald. There are many memories of coming home every day to special baked breads, cinnamon rolls and cookies. She made a very special home for her whole family to enjoy.
Proceeded in death by her parents; sister, LaVern Mathie; brothers, Lloyd, Ted and Reed Staker. She is survived by husband, Ivan; daughter, Connie (Bill) Webb; son, Donald (Connie) McCourt; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at the East Carbon LDS Chapel. Friends may call Thursday, Aug. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 680 E. 100 South, Price; and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the East Carbon LDS Chapel. Interment: will be in Cliffview Cemetery at 2 p.m.
