Tornado-like winds hit east Wellington Tuesday afternoon sending the side of a lean-to and its roof flying onto a neighbors house, causing extensive damage. Shauna and Dean Hadden were having a yard sale when the storm hit and their daughter Kacie says that all she remembers was brown stuff swirling through the sky as lumber from the neighbor’s building struck their house. A large piece of timber crashed through the living room window and another piece was lodged in the side of the house. Yard sale material was strewn throughout a field and the winds picked up almost everything in the yard and moved it, including a trampoline and clothesline. Part of the neighbor’s structure also landed on the Hadden’s tractor.
