PRICE/ROY – Matthew Scott Humphreys, 9, died Monday, July 5, 2004 at Bullfrog, Lake Powell, of an accidental drowning.
He was born November 29, 1994 in Ogden, the son of Terry R. and Vickie A. Brady Humphreys.
Matthew lived in Roy and attended Valley View Elementary School. He was recognized often for his scholastic abilities and won many awards. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he enjoyed his Primary class. He was active in the Cub Scouts and took great pride in every badge he earned.
Matthew loved cars and enjoyed collecting match box cars. He also loved riding his bike, scooter and horseback riding.
Surviving are loving parents; one brother and one sister, Daniel and Sarah, all of Roy. Matthew is also survived by grandparents, Wallace Humphreys, Washington; Glenn and Shirley Brady, Price; many aunts, uncles, and best friends Vincent and Bryce. He was preceded in death by grandma, Sarah Humphreys; also grandfather, Alma Christensen.
Funeral services were Saturday, 1 p.m., at the Midland Farms Ward Chapel, 3845 South 2000 West, in Roy under the direction of Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

Lavon Juvan


HELPER – Lavon Shirley Juvan, age 79, passed away suddenly at her home in Helper.
She was born Aug. 12, 1924 in Price to Alma and Mabel Jensen Greenwood. She married Andy Juvan June 17, 1943 in Castle Dale.
Mom liked to crochet, sew, cook, gardening (she had the most beautiful flag iris in the county) and go fishing but her greatest treasure on earth was her family, by whom she will be dearly missed.
Lavon is survived by children, Shirley Johansen of Las Vegas, Nev.; Frances and Jerry Price of Spring Glen; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also survived by brother and sisters, George and Carol Greenwood; Joyce and Nick Nelson, Ella Santi and Lois and Horace Thayne and her little dog Wilbur. Preceded in death by husband, Andy; who was killed in a mining accident in 1963; brother, Bob Greenwood; sister, Ruth Pace; and brother-in-law, Leon Pace.
Graveside services will be Friday, July 16, 10 a.m., in the Price City Cemetery. Friends may call at Fausett Mortuary from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening and Friday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to services.
