A tractor and tanker-trailer filled with propane lie at the bottom of a wash in Indian Canyon following a single-vehicle accident 10 miles west of Helper last Friday. Operated by 46-year-old Nathan L. Nazer of Roosevelt, the tractor-trailer drifted off the right side of State Road 191 at about noon on July 9, indicated Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Chris Parkins. Registered to a member of the driver’s family, the tractor and Propane Transport International trailer struck the guardrail, then rolled down the embankment before coming to rest in the wash. Carbon County’s Hazmat team responded to the scene and detected no propane leakage, noted the UHP trooper. The unseatbelted trucker was ejected from the tractor and transported to Castleview Hospital with minor injuries incurred in the mishap. Investigators discovered no evidence to indicate alcohol or speed contributed to the accident. No citations were issued at scene and the investigation into the accident continues, concluded Parkins.
