The Castle Country Bassmasters make major changes to the Gigliotti Pond in Helper on June 4 and 5.
To go along with the new liner added to the pond by the Division of Wildlife Resources, the local Bassmasters chapter donated its time to create an underwater ecosystem complete with snags.
The club also tried to enhance the look of the pond.
“The bass club members felt like they had a chance to build a giant aquarium,” President Dave Babcock commented. “It has been an excellent project for the club.”
Gigliotti Pond, which was designed with full handicapped access, remains snag free in the deep ends.
The pond is currently being refilled with water and will be stocked with trout by the beginning of July.
The Bassmasters and DWR will add bass and bluegill in mid-July.
