Senior pitcher Troy Grundy was named to first team all-state for his 6-1 pitching record. Grundy averaged 14 strikeouts per game.
Third baseman Chris Hatch, a junior, was named to the second team. Sophomore Adam Martinez was given an honorable mention for his efforts on the mound and as a designated hitter.
Senior Mike Smith also played in the 3A south all-star game at the end of May.
For the girls, Brooke Herrick was named to the all-state second team as an outfielder and Morgan Warburton was named to the same team for infielding.
First basewoman Brittany Pollastro was given an honorable mention. Pollastro was also named as Salt Lake Tribune’s prep athlete for the month of May.
Pollastro’s 41 RBIs and seven home runs helped Carbon to a 2-2 record at the state tournament. She has also been named to four academic all-state teams this season.
