Bruno Corte


ROY – Our beloved husband, father and grandpa, Bruno Dalla Corte, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 22, 2004, surrounded by his family.
Born April 20, 1920 in Sunnyside, Utah, to Italian immigrants, Amerigo and Carmela Dalla Corte, he attended Carbon High School, where he was in the band and an All-State basketball player.
Bruno married his high school sweetheart, Ileene Brady, on August 12, 1940, they were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on their 50th wedding anniversary.
He was employed as a coal miner for Kaiser Steel for 39 years. While employed with Kaiser Steel, Bruno and Ileene, lived in Sunnyside for 24 years, before being transferred to Raton, NM, where Bruno worked as superintendent of maintenance.
He was a friend to everyone. He loved fishing, golfing, playing pinochle and traveling with friends and family.
Bruno is survived by his wife, Ileene, Roy; daughters, Brunalene (Larry) Wakley, Roy; Delray (Kent) Palmer, Crystal Lake, IL; granddaughters, Lorraine (John) Sneddon, Houston, TX; Lori (Ryan) Shepherd, Layton; Lindsay Palmer, Arlington, VA; Ashley Palmer, Provo; and four great-grandchildren, Seth, Sarah, Charlotte and Rebecca; also surviving are his sisters, Yolanda Farlaino and Yvonne Dalla Corte, Sunnyside.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Monte Vista Ward Chapel, 3845 South 2000 West, Roy.
Friends may call at the church on Tuesday between 9:45 to10:45 a.m.
Interment, Price City Cemetery, where a Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 noon.

Billie Curry


WELLINGTON – Our loving mother, grandmother, aunt and dear friend, Billie A. Hagy Curry, age 81, passed away May 21, 2004 in Price.
She was born July 8, 1922 i Welch, W. Va. to William and Ethel Patton Hagy. Married Colmer C. Curry Dec. 1, 1945 in Delbarton, W. Va. He died May 6, 1981.
Faithful member of the Price First Baptist Church, where she served as secretary, treasurer and a Sunday school teacher for many years. Once a week Willie and her best friend Sylvia Clerico enjoyed volunteering at the care centers in Price. She loved music, reading, traveling and visiting with her grandchildren.
Survived by son, Gary G. Curry, Price; daughter Sarah C. Thomas, Kent, Wash.; granddaughter, Holly A. Thomas, Auburn, Wash.; grandson, Reed A. Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Kennedy Thomas, all of Phoenix, Ariz. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Edith Reid and Georgia P. Lawson.
Funeral service Tuesday, May 25, 2 p.m., Price Fist Baptist Church, 200 N. 300 East. Family will be at the church Tuesday one hour prior to services. Friends are welcome at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Interment, Wellington city Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Price First Baptist Church.


David Arellano


WELLINGTON – David A. Arellano, age 68, left this world while at home in a quiet, peaceful and spiritual way with Myra at his side on May 21, 2004.
Born Nov. 11, 1935 in Costilla, N. M. to Daniel F. and Bernice Feloniz Vigil Arellano. Married Beatrice Algine March 13, 1954 in Pueblo, Colo., she later died. Married Myra Ann Tidwell May 5, 1989 in Elko, Nev.
Member of the Catholic Church. David had a great appreciation for the armed forces and he honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. during Korea. He loved fishing, golfing, camping, traveling, dancing and playing the guitar. David was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends.
Survived by wife, Myra Arellano, Wellington; five sons, David Arellano Jr., Michael (Sandy) Arellano, both of Fort Worth, Texas; Christopher Arellano, Summerset, Colo.; Bob (Sherry) Arellano, Price; Albert (Monie) Arellano, Rock Springs, Wyo.; two sisters and one brother, Orla Gallegos, Pueblo, Colo.; Edna Arellano, Fort Worth, Texas; Wilfred (Mary) Vigil, Sunnyside; 19 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; extended famith and many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass Wednesday, May 26, 10 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Family will be at the churdh Wednesday one hour prior to Mass. Rosary will be recited prior to Mass. Committal service, Costilla, N. Mex.


Fred Larsen


PRICE – Fredrick William Larsen, age 93, passed away May 19, 2004 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
Born Nov. 7, 1910 in Castle Dale, to Fredrick Emil and Belle Mae Snow Larsen. Married Madge Christy McDonald July 3, 1935 in Ferron, she died March 6, 1974. Married Florence Marchello Nov. 26, 1982 in Spring glen, she died Dec. 24, 1993.
Fred was a member of the LDS Church and a lifelong resident of Carbon and Emery Counties. Retired member of UMWA Horse Canyon Local 8003 with 42 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. Fred had a great love for his family and especially dining and dancing with family and friends.
Survived by sons, Fredrick “Jan” (Shirley) Larsen, Roseburg, Ore.; Dane (Pat) Larsen, Price; six grandchildren, Kimberlie Jan, Karie Lynn, Kenda Denise, Karlyn Kay, Jill and Dane; and 11 loving great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Carlos; and sister, Leah Gee.
Funeral service was May 22, Mitchell Funeral Home. Interment, Price City Cemetery.


Dennis Martyn


GREEN RIVER – After a long illness Dennis Ralph (Fluckey) Martyn passed away May 21, 2004 at his home in Green River of renal failure.
He was born March 17, 1941 in Alamosa, Colo, to Ralph Roger and Lillian Iceal Fluckey. He married Loraine Walker May 28, 1966 and enjoyed his life with her and their three children.
Following graduation from Green River High School, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was one of the first licensed EMT’s in Green River and worked for 10 years on the ambulance. He was also a volunteer for the fire department and served as assistant fire chief for many years. He was a charter member of the Silent City Muzzleloaders.
In 1987, he relocated to Yerington, Nev. where he worked for the Nevada Auto Test Center. This was a job that he loved. Due to health reasons he came home in 1993.
He is survived by wife, Laraine of Green River; daughter, Chandra (Ben) Lehnhoff, also of Green River; sons, Bret (Wendy) Martyn of Fallon, Nev.; Lane Martyn of North Ryde, Australia; grandchildren, Alyssa, Tristen, Chad and Tyler; mother, Lillian Peats of Rocky Ford, Colo., brother, Gary Fluckey of Green River; and other stepbrothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by father, Roger; and stepmother, Esther Fluckey; and Marvel Ryan.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to the Castleview Dialysis Unit and the Green River Medical Center staff for their compassionate support.
