Halee Rasmussen breaks for a bunt during a season home game.

Defense was the name of the game April 22 when the Lady Dinos slugged it out with the Lady Pioneers of Lehi.
Neither team gave the other any breaks and the outcome was not decided until extra innings.
Coach Cami Carlson said Lacey Timothy’s performance on the mound backed by the team’s intense defensive effort led to the tight game.
“It was the best defense we’ve ever played,” she commented.
With each team going scoreless through seven innings of regulation play, the international run rule was evoked in the eighth, putting a runner on second base to start the inning
Two outs into the inning, the Dinos looked as though they would stifle the Pioneers yet again.
The Lehi runner had only advanced to third and a second runner waited at second due to a walk. The ladies needed only one out before it was their turn at the plate.
However, after seven innings of solid play a dropped pop fly in the outfield allowed both Lehi runners to score. The next batter followed with an RBI single.
Carbon was only able to get one back in the bottom of the eighth, losing 3-1.
Brittany Pollastro was the only Dino with an extra-base hit during the game. She hit a triple in the sixth inning.
Carbon defeated the Lady Spartans of Emery High 16-8 on April 20.
