Charlene Marinoni Dupin of Price was inducted into the Utah Athletic Directors Hall of Fame on April 16. She is the first woman ever to receive the honor.
Dupin graduated from Notre Dame High School and went on to graduate from College of Eastern Utah, Utah State University and Brigham Young University.
Dupin began her 38 year teaching and coaching career at East Carbon Junior High. She was the first to coach girls track, basketball, volleyball, tennis, gymnastics and co-ed swimming at Carbon High School.
Dupin also served as the advisor to Carbon High School pep club, cheerleaders and drill team for 25 years.
She said her highest honor in track came in 1980 when the Carbon High girls team won the state championships followed by a second place honor in 1981.
Dupin served as the athletic director at Carbon High School for 12 years and on the UIAAA Athletic Directors Advisory Council for six years.
In 2000 she was inducted into the CEU athletic Hall of Fame.
Dupin and her husband Paul are the parents of two daughters, Paula and Pam. They have three grandchildren and another on the way.
