Carbon girls softball The Lady Dinos concluded a rescheduled April 1 softball matchup against North Sanpete on April 14.
The game was postponed due to a mid-game downpour which stopped action.
Carbon lost 7-3, finishing the game with six errors.
On April 15, the Lady Dinos followed with a substantial loss against the Lady Utes of Uintah.
Errors again riddled the Lady Dino defense and doubles by Lacey Timothy, Halee Rasmussen and Kacee Robinson were not enough to stave off nine hits by Uintah.
Uintah took the non-region game 17-4. Carbon drops to 7-7 on the season with the loss.
The Lady Dinos will play Emery High today at Emery. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
College of Eastern Utah baseball. The Eagles broke up a Dixie sweep in the final game of back-to-back double headers.
On April 16, Dixie won the opening game 8-3.
The Rebels followed with a narrow 2-1 win. Jake Southwick was the only scoring Eagle with a solo home run in the second game loss.
Dixie continued its run into the second day, taking the third game 10-3.
But Eastern Utah was able to stop a late rally, getting the final out of the fourth game before Dixie could take advantage of the loaded bases.
CEU won the game 6-5.
Dixie retains its first place positioning in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings at 21-7. Southern Nevada trails by one game with a 20-8 record.
The Eagles are currently 7-21 in the SWAC. The team will travel to Colorado Northwestern Community College this weekend for a four-game series.
Colorado State Women’s Basketball camp. The Colorado State Women’s basketball team is hosting the annual Junior Ram Camp and Ram Sharpshooters day camp on June 1-4.
An advanced skills overnight camp for high school students will take place June 11-13 and an overnight camp for grades seven through 12 will be hosted June 29 -July 2.
