Carbon junior Joe Via is selective on a pitch against Emery earlier this season. Via had two home runs in Friday’s away game against North Sanpete, which the Dinos won 17-7 in the fifth inning.

Carbon High humbled the North Sanpete Hawks on their own turf, winning by 10.
The Dinos outscored North Sanpete each inning to earn their third conference win of the season.
Joe Via lead the offensive attack on the Region 8 rival, going 3 for 3, including two home runs and seven RBIs.
Troy Grundy and Mike Zaccaria added doubles for Carbon. Tyler Nelson hit a double and a triple in the 17-7 win.
Chris Hatch was the winning hurler, pitching four innings before being relieved by Adam Martinez.
The game was called in the fifth inning on account of the 10-run rule.
Head coach Lane Herrick said all members of the team have made a lot of progress offensively and the team’s defense is getting stronger.
Carbon rises to 3-0 in Region 8 and 8-5 on the season while North Sanpete drops to 0-3 and 1-8.
The Dinos will host Delta today at Carbon field. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
Carbon will then play Uintah at home in a non-conference matchup on April 7 at 3:30 p.m.
