Tourney moved to Price, Helper

By Sun Advocate

The state 2A baseball tournament has migrated east this year from its regular location at the Utah Valley State College field in Orem.
The UVSC field is currently under renovation for an incoming Rookie League team, the Provo Angels, which will begin summer play in 2005.
As a result, Carbon County was named as the 2004 tournament host by the Utah High School Activities Association.
Games will take place at Carlson-Colosimo field in Price and at Gardner Field in Helper on May 6, the opening day of the tournament.
The remainder of the games will then be played at Gardner Field on May 7 and 8.
College of Eastern Utah athletic director Dave Paur will oversee game activity in Price, while Helper American Legion coaches Jeff Jewkes and Jeff Cisneros along with Walt Borla will oversee Helper activity.
This is the first time the tournament has taken place in Carbon County.
