Richard Lee, the current chairman of the Carbon Water Conservancy District, has won the prestigious Life Service Award from the Utah Water Users Association. Lee, who has been involved in the local water conservancy district for three decades and has been chairman for many years, has worked extremely hard to keep Carbon County’s water rights intact and has been at the fore front in improving Scofield Dam. Lee said he is very proud of the award he received during the annual meeting of the state association in St. George on March 9, but that a lot of the credit for what he has done should go to other individuals in the district, as well as in Carbon County, that have contributed their time and talents over the years.
