A number of snow slides, including this one that was about 9 feet deep and 100 feet long, covered Highway 31 over the weekend. According to Dave Babcock, Utah Department of Transportation area maintenance supervisor, two small slides on Thursday and Sunday only put a little snow on the highway. The biggest one occurred on Saturday. The slides have been taking place between mileposts 30 and 33. UDOT crews had the slide cleared up in about four hours. More slides can be expected as long as the wet warm flow from the south continues to dump snow into the mountains above Castle Country.
