The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is seeking candidates from Carbon County who are interested in representing environmental values on the southeast Regional Wildlife Advisory Council (RAC).
A RAC consists of members, representing sportsmen, stock growers, elected officials, federal land management agencies, the general public, environmental or non-consumptive interests and others.
The RAC reviews hunting, fishing and other wildlife-related rules and regulations. RAC members seek to provide input from their various constituents to strike a balance, serving the interest of all wildlife and wildlife stakeholders.
The southeast RAC meets monthly in Green River at the John Wesley Powell Museum. Meetings include presentations from the DWR, special interest groups and the public at-large.
Council members discuss and vote on various proposals, covering a wide variety of topics.
The RAC serves in an advisory capacity to the Utah Wildlife Board, which is responsible for statewide rule and policy-making.
Contact DRW Regional Supervisor Derris Jones at 435-636-0261 if interested in participating.
