Chase Julian takes an elbow from a Lehi player. The Dinos lost to the undefeated Pioneers, despite a close score through the third quarter.

For three out of four quarters, Carbon played a nearly flawless game against the nearly flawless Lehi Pioneers.
Lehi has lead all region eight teams this season and was undefeated going into the last regular season game Friday night at Carbon High.
After the clock expired on the tight first half, a Lehi shooter stood alone on the court due to a late foul and added two free throws to give the Pioneers a three point lead.
Lehi increased the lead to six in the third quarter, while the Dinos stubbornly fought off a Lehi run.
However in the fourth quarter, Lehi was able to capitalize on momentary holes in Carbon’s aggressive defense and elevate the score beyond the Dinos’ reach.
Lehi cruised to a finish, winning 69-51.
Brandon Manzanares tied the game high with 24 points. Zach Henseler contributed nine.
Lehi improved to 8-0 in region eight play and 17-4 on the season.
The Dinos dropped to 2-6.
Carbon will travel to Morgan on Friday for the state playoffs. The winner will advance to the state tournament.
