A photo class is being scheduled to shoot the Huntington, Eccles Scenic Byway Feb. 6 and 7. Instructor for the two day class is Layne Miller. The class is called “Shoot like a pro” and will capture the Huntington Canyon winter beauty.
According to Joan Taylor, coordinator of the scenic byway, the classroom portion of the program is Friday, Feb. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m., while the canyon field trip will begin at 9 a.m. and run until around 3 p.m. Saturday. Reservations are required and the deadline is Monday, Feb. 2. Reservations can be made by calling the Castle Country Travel Region at 637-3009. There will be a charge for the class.
According to Taylor the canyon is one of the most beautiful canyons in Utah and a great place to learn to create breathtaking photographs. Miller will teach the group how to use snow to their advantage by creating striking photos using the blue skies and white snow, including effective shadows. In addition students will be taught the effect of balance and angles, leading lines, unusual shots and rule of thirds.
Students need a functioning camera, either regular or digital, warm clothing, winter boots, own transportation, a light lunch and water.
Cosponsors of the program include the Sun Advocate and KOAL radio, Castle Country Travel Region, byways communities, including Carbon, Emery and Sanpete counties and the US Forest Service.
