Marjorie Zamora
HIAWATHA/VERNAL – Marjorie D. Erickson Zamora, 77, of Vernal, died Nov. 26, 2003 at her home.
She was born July 4, 1926 in Carbon County to Bert Christian and Lucille Petty Erickson. She was married to Ben Zamora who is now deceased.
Marjorie worked in the coal mines of Hiawatha, as a safety supervisor. She was very involved with the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and Cub Scouts. Marjorie had taught school, enjoyed going to the Golden Age Center, loved sports, fishing and just being outdoors.
Marjorie is survived by son, Donald (Linda) Zamora of Greenville, Ala.; daughter, Karen (Charles) Sisneros of Vernal; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Ben Zamora.
Funeral was Dec. 3, at the Vernal LDS 4th Ward Chapel, 235 E. 600 South under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
Burial, Maeser Fairview Cemetery.
Cloye Tucker
PROVO – Cloye Delyle Tucker, age 60, passed away in Provo, following a serious illness on December 12, 2003.
He was born Feb. 8, 1943 in Cleveland, to John Ward and Ceceilia Ruth Jensen Tucker. Cloye married Kolleen Charlesworth. They had a daughter, Loye Tucker and later divorced. He then married Shirley Duncan and later divorced.
He was the owner and operator of Tucker Auto Repair for many years. He also worked in other jobs including construction, and ranching. He was an avid sportsman. He belonged to the Eastern Utah Rodeo Association participating in bareback, saddle bronc and bull riding and excelled as an all around great cowboy.
Cloye is survived by father, John W. Tucker of Cleveland; daughter, Loye K. Tucker; two grandchildren, Bethany Shalae and Kellar Shawn, all of Castle Dale; three brothers, John Roy (Delores) Tucker of Huntington; Ward Voy (Clistie) Tucker of Moab; and Ernest DeLoye Tucker of Cleveland. He is also survived by five stepchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call for a visitation at the Cleveland LDS Ward Chapel on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 10 to 11 a.m., Funeral services will follow at the ward chapel at 11 a.m. with interment in the Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary, Castle Dale.
Frances Morris
SALT LAKE CITY – Frances “Fran” Koncher Morris, 89, of Salt Lake City, died Dec. 9, 2003.
She was born Aug. 14, 1914 in Murray to Louis and Frances Kadunc Koncher. Married Pete Morris July 10, 1943 in Portland, Ore.
She grew up in Carbon County. She worked for Utah Poultry and National Coal Company. She was always there with an open heart, an open mind, and open arms. She was a friend to everyone. She always had nice things to say about others. Everyone who met her loved her. She was an angel among us on earth.
She is survived by husband, Pete; daughter, Marlene Morris of Salt Lake City; son, Peter Morris of Clinton; granddaughter, Julia Kay Morris, whom Frances absolutely adored; brother, Richard (Donna) Koncher; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, William and Louis Koncher.
Funeral services were Friday, at Neil O’Donnell and Sons Mortuary in Salt Lake City. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Antonio Archuleta
LOS OJOS, N.M. – Antonio Ike Archuleta 86, passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003.
He was born Feb. 3, 1917 in Los Ojos, N.M.
He never married but shared 35 years of his life with Tillie Vigil Lucero after her husband’s passing.
He is survived by Johnny (Linda) Hernandez of Denver, Colo.; Samuel Lee Hernandez of Colorado; Tina (Derald) Riche and children of Spring Glen; and Mary Felina and Tracy Rascon of Carlsbad, N.M. Relatives of Ike were all from Los Ojos, N.M.
Cremation will take place and services will be Saturday, Dec. 20, at 5 p.m. in Carbon County where Ike will be put to rest.
Floyd Haycock
HELPER – Floyd Haycock, 75, resident of Helper, passed away Dec. 12, 2003 in Salt Lake City.
He was born April 25, 1928 in Spring Glen to Jesse and Ruth Haycock. He married Shirley Ray Richardson in Las Vegas, Nev. and later divorced.
Floyd served in the U.S. Army 48th Field Artillery in Pusan, Korea during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of the LDS Church and had worked most of his life in mining.
Floyd is survived by children, Ray Haycock of Ogden; Jesse (Jennie) Haycock of Price; brothers and sisters, Jim (Juanita) of Hanna, Wyo.; Thomas Haycock of Kenilworth; Bernice of Ogden; Clyde (Karen) Haycock of Layton; Norma Steele of Price; and former wife, Shirley Richardson Haycock of Spring Glen. Also surviving are six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Harry, Joseph, Donald, Bob; and infant brother.
A viewing will be held at Fausett Mortuary in Price on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 17, 11 a.m., at the mortuary chapel with a viewing an hour prior to services. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery in Helper.
Launda Wilkes
PRICE/ARCADIA, Fla. – Launda Fay Wilkes, 1952 to 2003 Arcadia, Fla., died Dec. 6.
Born Launda Fay Stella in Price, the daughter of the late Mike and Thursa Stella.
Launda spent much of her life seeing the world as the wife of Jack “Jabby” Wilkes, who is retired from the U.S. Army. Upon settling in Florida, Launda continued lovingly raising her family and caring for the needs of the elderly. We will miss her dearly.
Launda is survived by husband, Jack “Jabby” Wilkes; daughter, Jennifer “Kevin” Rickard, Orlando, Fla.; Monica and Amberly, Arcadia, Fla.; brothers, George R. Stella, Wellington; Donald R. Hatch, Salmon, Idaho; Scott Stella, Helper; sister, Danna K. Damron, Price; many nieces and nephews and their children. Launda was preceded in death by parents; and one granddaughter.
The family will attend a private celebration of her life on Dec. 17, at the Price Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers or other acts of kindness, please donate to the American Heart Association.
