East Carbon gets Bryce Valley education

By Sun Advocate

Nicole Larsen breaks past a Bryce Valley guard during Friday’s 53-22 loss.

East Carbon ladies basketball showed their inexperience Friday night as the Bryce Valley Mustangs taught them a thing or two about basketball.
Bryce Valley controlled the floor from the opening minutes of the meeting, forcing jumpballs at every opportunity and stripping hesistant Viking guards repeatedly.
The final score was 53-22.
Bryce Valley had a bench advantage coming into the game.
Two of the East Carbon’s 12 players were out from sickness, leaving 10 Vikings to tackle the junior varsity and varsity game.
Bryce Valley, meanwhile, was able to wear down the Lady Vikings with their deep bench and fresh players.
East Carbon showed a resiliency to their stronger opponents, however, making necessary adjustments and staving off a complete blowout with their effort on both ends of the court.
Nicole Larsen led East Carbon with 12 points, including two three-pointers. The season will break for the Thanksgiving holiday and then the Lady Vikings will be back in action on Dec. 2 against area foe Green River.
