Kami Blackburn takes a bunny during a non-conference game against Westminster. Blackburn’s free-throw shooting in game two of last weekend’s series against SLCC finished off the Lady Eagle’s sweep.

In the team’s first ever win at Bruin Arena, College of Eastern Utah took both games of a weekend series against Salt Lake Community College.
SLCC, which is projected to be a top conference team this season, begins their Scenic West Athletic Conference play 0-2.
Chelsey Warburton was CEU’s big producer in the opening game on Nov. 14, going seven of 10 from the field with four three-pointers.
Warburton was also four of four from the free-throw line and finished the night with 22 points.
Janell Casey, Lindsey Arnoldus and Cheryl Grant chipped in 13 points a piece, as well.
The final game score was 85-71.
The following night, an inability to capitalize on free throws cost the Lady Bruins.
SLCC was 24-42 from the line for the night.
CEU surged with a late game run to score the final 11 points.
Kami Blackburn dropped two free throws with six seconds remaining to clinch the win.
High scorer was Blackburn with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Cassie Warburton kicked in 13 points and six rebounds, Chelsey Warburton added 10 points, five rebounds and Candace Norris had 10 points, four rebounds.
Coach Dave Paur said the team’s defensive pressure and depth was a big factor in the win.
“Our press hurt them,” he commented. “Athletically we’re deeper than we’ve ever been and when you full-court press, that comes in handy.”
CEU hosts their first conference games of the season this weekend against Snow College on Friday and Saturday.
Game times are 5:30 p.m. at the BDAC.
