Despite Eastern Arizona’s best efforts to fight back at the end of the game, sending College of Eastern Utah to the charity stripe proved to be their downfall.
Candice Norris hit eight foul shots in a row in the final minutes of the game to extend CEU’s lead beyond the Lady Gilamonsters’ reach.
Norris was 11 of 12 from the line.
The Nov. 5 game at Eastern Arizona was close at the half; the Lady Eagles had a tenuous, one point edge over Eastern Arizona, 25-24.
CEU started a second half fire, though, shooting 43 percent from the field and forcing 22 Gilamonster turnovers.
Arizona had 41 turnovers in the game.
Sisters Cassie and Chelsey Warburton combined for 16 points, while Kami Blackburn and Cheyrl Grant added 10 points a piece.
The Lady Eagles will host Westminster today at 6 p.m. for their first home game of the season.
