Carbon Country 4-H Members Compete in State Horse Show

Arlene Cunningham rides in the State Horse Show. Cunningham won several awards for her riding.

Carbon County 4-H members received top honors at the State 4-H Horse Show in Panguitch on Sept. 18-20.
Junior class rider Lynde Llewelyn took 4th place overall high point, second in showmanship and third in reining in the Two Handed Show on Sept. 18.
Senior class rider Arlene Cunningham also competed in the Two Handed Show. She took first place in the Western Pleasure class with her 3-year-old colt, Hancock’s Oreo.
In the Individual Shows on Sept. 19-20, participants competed in both judged and speed events.
In addition to Llewelyn and Cunningham, Individual Show participants were juniors Chandelle Rudman and Scoti Moon and intermediates Bo Edwards and Kelsie Gillespie.
Cunningham brought home four ribbons, including sixth place overall high point, 10th place poles, 11th place overall speed events and 14th place overall judged events.
She competed against more than 90 of the top riders in the state.
Carbon County’s 4-H high point winners for each class were Rudman in the junior class, JD Pell in the intermediate class and Cunningham in the senior class.
