Price city, in partnership with local businesses and agencies, has launched a Main Street revitalization and economic development effort.
The project will include forming several advisory committees, pointed out Price city community director Nick Tatton. The panels will consist of:
•A design committee to coordinate the appearance of the Price Main Street corridor.
•An economic restructuring committee to identify and promote local retail based business opportunities.
•An events-promotions committee to organize activities to invigorate the downtown area in Price.
Goals of the Price Main Street revitalization project will focus on helping existing businesses stabilize as well as expand and identifying new enterprises to compliment the mix of companies in the downtown area, explained the community director.
Currently, a retail sales and market analysis is being completed to provide necessary information to proceed with the revitalization effort, pointed out Tatton. Part of the process involves conducting a community survey.
Survey forms will be mailed to all recipients of Price city utility billings, added the community director. Residents with Internet services may access the surveys on line at www.pricecityutah.com.
After accessing the city’s web site, people should click on the scrolling test on the left side of the computer screen when the community survey is mentioned.
All Carbon County residents are encouraged to complete the community survey, pointed out the Price community director. People completing and returning survey survey will be entered to win a $500 downtown Price shopping spree. The drawing for the shopping spree will be conducted on Dec. 1.
