Out of seven matches played at the Salt Lake Community College tournament, CEU volleyball didn’t come home with any wins.
Four of the top five junior college teams in the nation attended the event and CEU competed against each of them.
“We knew it was going to be a tough tournament,” Coach Brent Martindale said. “But we got there and it was worse than we thought.”
CEU’s opponents included Western Nebraska, Lakeland Community of Illinois, South Western Missouri State, College of Southern Idaho, Dixie, Salt Lake Community and Snow.
Martindale said he was pleased with the way his team competed against the top ranked schools, but was disappointed that they didn’t play well against their regular region opponents.
Sophomore Sandra Sorenson led the team in killing percentage and was second in kills to sophomore Jordan Fox.
The Lady Eagles play away Saturday at Western Wyoming.
