Letter to the Editor: County should meet with environmentalists

By Sun Advocate

Editor:
What is wrong with Utah’s environmental groups?
Why don’t they try to help to get industry here? They recently stopped a coal mine from opening up and operating in the Lila Canyon area of the Book Cliffs. Now they want to keep a gas exploration company from drilling seven gas wells near the Nine Mile Canyon area.
Isn’t there a way to deal with them?
With a large gas drilling program planned for Carbon and Emery counties, wouldn’t it be advisable to meet with those environmental groups.
I think the county and economic development should try and set up meetings to discuss the issues and see if we can resolve some of them
